Havana, August 24 (can) A bronze bust of Cuban National Hero José Marti was unveiled at the island's embassy in Malaysia on Friday.

According to the Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Pedro Monzon, the bust will be exhibited in the diplomatic mission until it is transferred to a Bolivar-Marti cultural center under construction in Malaysia.

The ceremony was also attended by several Latin American ambassadors in Kuala Lumpur and a number of Cubans resident in that Asian country, reports PL news agency.

The bust, which was donated by the Cuban Ministry of Culture, was cast by prestigious Cuban sculptor Antonio Lescay while its base was designed and created by young Cuban painter Enrique Wong.

Monzon noted that this is the first bust of a Latin American hero in Malaysia and explained that Marti, like Bolivar, Sucre, San Martín and Juarez, is a character of continental transcendence.
