US commander on Pakistan tour

At least 25 people were killed and many wounded in Saturday's blast at a poll rally in Charsadda [EPA]

Mike Mullen, the chairman of the US joint chief of staff, is to visit Pakistan's border region with Afghanistan.
He is expected to meet in the city of Peshawar on Sunday commanders of Pakistani forces involved in combat in the region.


The meeting was announced as the funerals of those killed in a suicide bombing in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) were held on Sunday.

A suspected suicide bomber killed at least 25 people and wounded another 35 at an election rally of an opposition party on Saturday.
