It shows how the people of this country have bowed to the diktat of powerful oligarchs, feudalists and industrialists who have used power politics as their pastime to further their interests.

The only institutions that have thrived and stabilised since the 1950s are military rule and political tyranny. Democracy under these conditions had little chance to take roots. Even the very idea of democracy had been hijacked and misused while few took notice of the charade of political process of elections that was occasionally allowed to take place.

The present president of Pakistan is the notorious example of that charade: Zardari is one of the most corrupt persons who used his conjugal relationship and business-partnership with his wife Benazir Bhutto to amass untold wealth from Pakistan and deposited millions of dollars in foreign banks and purchased high-value mansions in France, England and Dubai. But where did he get all that wealth from?

Under such political alliances of convenience between feudalists (Bhutto) and speculators (Zardari), the keys to the fate of Pakistanis and Pakistan were handed over to the imperial rulers of America.Nasir Khanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16981781828241865509noreply@blogger.com
